The project's aim is to stabilize Aquatic Warbler populations at the key sites of its range in Poland and Germany. This will be made possible through the simultaneous improvement of the breeding areas and enlargement of the sites themselves – especially in places where the species can be found in large numbers (Biebrza) and by preventing the extinction of the remaining Pomeranian population.
The project will be carried out by six non-governmental organizations and the protected areas' authorities from 3 EU countries, which will administer, monitor, and implement the project at 9 sites, all of which are Special Protection Areas.
The activities aim to:

Focus the attention of authorities, stakeholders and local communities on the need for the species' protection and its habitat requirements.

Enlarge the habitat suitable for Aquatic Warbler and improve its condition in Pomerania and Biebrza.

Develop and maintain the financial and legal mechanisms that will enable the implementation of ongoing management which will be favourable for the protection of Aquatic Warbler in Poland and Germany

Guarantee sustainable means for long-term protection activities.
